The short version: no accounts. Your dreams live on your phone. Dream text is sent to our server only in the moment tags or interpretations are generated, is never stored there, and never appears in logs.
Dreamlore is a dream journal with AI interpretation, made by Michael Lazaro. There is no sign-up, login, or user account. Your journal — dream text, tags, moods, interpretations, reports, and settings — is stored only on your device.
When you save a dream, and when you request an interpretation, the dream's text is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards it to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate tags or an interpretation. This processing is transient: the text is used only to produce the response, is not stored on our server, does not appear in our server logs, and per our API agreement is not used by Anthropic to train models. The result is returned to your device and saved there.
Weekly Dream Reports are generated from one-line summaries and tags only — your full dream text never leaves your device for reports.
If you use voice capture, speech recognition runs on your device when your phone supports it. On some devices and languages, the operating system (Apple or Google) may process audio through its own speech services, under its own privacy terms. Dreamlore itself never receives or stores audio — only the resulting text, which is treated like any typed dream.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play — we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status; it receives purchase receipt information tied to a random, anonymous identifier. This is not linked to your identity (we don't know who you are) and is not used for advertising or tracking.
Morning reminders and reality-check notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No push-notification service or server is involved.
No analytics SDKs, no advertising, no tracking, no selling of data, no accounts, no server-side storage of your journal.
We retain nothing server-side to delete. Your journal exists only on your device: delete individual dreams in the app, or delete the app to remove everything.
Dreamlore is not directed at children under 13.
If this policy changes, the update will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
